چکیده

Abstract To improve the sound quality of hearing devices, equalization filters can be used to achieve acoustic transparency, i.e., listening with device in ear is perceptually similar open ear. The filter needs ensure that superposition equalized signal played by and leaking through into canal matches a processed version reaching eardrum Depending on processing delay device, comb-filtering artifacts occur due this superposition, which may degrade perceived quality. In paper, we propose unified least-squares-based procedure design single- multi-loudspeaker for devices aimed at achieving transparency. account non-minimum phase components, utilize so-called group compensation. reduce artifacts, use frequency-dependent regularization. Experimental results using measured transfer functions from earpiece show proposed robust transparency reduces impact artifacts. A comparison between shows both cases performance achieved different desired functions.

Equalization of Loudspeaker and Room Responses Using Kautz Filters: Direct Least Squares Design

DSP-based correction of loudspeaker and room responses is becoming an important part of improving sound reproduction. Such response equalization (EQ) is based on using a digital filter in cascade with the reproduction channel to counteract the response errors introduced by loudspeakers and room acoustics. Several FIR and IIR filter design techniques have been proposed for equalization purposes....

Blind equalization using least-squares lattice prediction

Second-order statistics of the received signal can be used to equalize a communication channel without knowledge of the transmitted sequence. Blind zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean-square error (MMSE) equalization can be achieved with linear prediction-error filtering. The equivalence with the equalizers derived by Giannakis and Halford [1] is shown and adaptive predictors that result in a la...

Robust Least Squares and Applications

We consider least-squares problems where the coef-cient matrices A; b are unknown-but-bounded. We minimize the worst-case residual error using (convex) second-order cone programming (SOCP), yielding an algorithm with complexity similar to one singular value decomposition of A. The method can be interpreted as a Tikhonov regularization procedure, with the advantage that it provides an exact boun...

Least-squares channel equalization performance versus equalization delay

Linear channel equalization has been a successful way to combat intersymbol interference (ISI) introduced by physical communication channels at high enough symbol rates. We consider the performance of least-squares equalizers in the single-input/multi-output (SIMO) channel context when the true channel is composed of an th-order significant part and tails of “small” leading and/or trailing term...

A robust least squares fuzzy regression model based on kernel function

In this paper, a new approach is presented to fit arobust fuzzy regression model based on some fuzzy quantities. Inthis approach, we first introduce a new distance between two fuzzynumbers using the kernel function, and then, based on the leastsquares method, the parameters of fuzzy regression model isestimated. The proposed approach has a suitable performance to<b...
